Our 2006 Estate Ambassador’s tier Merlot is the last wine our founding winemaker, Leon Santoro made before his untimely death in 2009. In honor of Leon Santoro, we commemorate his last 50 cases with this extremely limited bottling. Every bottle is individually numbered 1-600, and retains the high caliber of quality and style Santoro was known for.
This Merlot is rich and refined with flavors of cherry, mocha and blueberry with hints of violet. Selected from blocks of our Estate Vineyards on gently sloping hillsides, this wine exemplifies the terroir of the San Pasqual Valley and Leon's dedication to winemaking.
