Hey everyone, Kiara here… You may have noticed on our social media that we have been up to some cool stuff this summer! If you stopped by our Oceanside location in the last couple weeks, you saw our new Sangria. Now, more than ever, is the time for communities to stand together, and what better way to do so than through collaboration?! We teamed up with Meadiocrity Mead to create the perfect summer sangria! Our Pinot Noir and their mead created a deliciously dry, refreshing beverage! Let’s check in with Mark, from Meadiocrity:
A sangria collaboration was a natural co-mingling of the grape and honey wine worlds with the naturally floral characteristics of mead complimenting the fruity flavors of the grapes and other fruit. Plus, it’s scorching in San Diego, so what better way to enjoy it than with a chilled beverage? We used a mead made with raw San Diego honey harvested about 20 miles from our production facility. Doesn’t get much more local than that!
Meadiocrity specializes in traditional meads but also features a variety of flavors and styles from dry to semi-sweet, still to carbonated, and fruited to traditional. If you’ve never had mead before or think you don’t like mead, you’re certain to find a variety to delight you at their San Marcos tasting room. Meadiocrity also has its own apiary, caring for millions of bees and harvesting honey right from the backcountry of San Diego.
Thanks Mark!
If you guys are interested in trying the sangria, head over to our Oceanside Tasting Room while supplies last. Stay tuned on social media for more collaborations!
